My lack of blogging

I don't have much to talk about lately.
I didn't get the job. Lame.
I got a year older. Lame.
I really need a job. Lame.
Sooo. Not much to talk about here.
Will blog again later...if something exciting happens.

Oh, Sissa is having her gallbladder removed on Monday. It's not a difficult surgery but prayers for her are appreciated. Thanks bye

Smiles on Sunday-Birthday Edition

Update: yes, the icing did come out of the clothing. I would highly recommend Shout Advanced spray for all stains. It works everytime.

"Vacation" Postcard

Yesterday we celebrated Snickerdoodle's 1st birthday by taking a little vacation to St. Louis.
We went to the zoo and Grant's Farm and had a wonderful time.

He loved it and we had a great time considering it was 95 degrees.

Plus it was cheap so doubley good. I don't have much time for blogging. TheOldMan and I are finishing up party preparations and house cleaning so I'll cut this short.

Smiles on Sunday (early edition)

The big plan for vacation is to clean the house. We are having the big First birthday party next Saturday so we need to get the house clean before we leave to go anywhere exciting.

I'll be happy if we get out of here by Tuesday. But here is the Sunday post a little early because tomorrow we will be in cleaning mode.

Enjoy! (These pics are from Snickerdoodle's 1 year pictures we got taken today. He hated it but we did get a few good ones)

Friday!!

It's vacation!
And my iPod came in the mail today!
Big Day!

By the way, FedEx and Apple are amazing! I ordered the iPod on Tuesday night. Thursday morning at 5am it was in China. It was in Indy by midnight and at my door by 1pm! That is fast shipping for only $10!

Fabulous!

This is my ensemble for Hermano and BlueEyes' wedding next month. The dress is still a little snug and the shoes are a little big but I don't care, I love them both and will look fabulous in them. I'll post a picture of me wearing it instead of on my bed when I fit in the dress a little better. That is a little lightweight shrug I'm going to wear over it and the pearls are peach-colored to match the dress. Overall I'm totally in love with the outfit!

The Job Interview

It went really well.
This is the first job I've interviewed for in a long time that I can see myself doing and not loathing.
The idea has been terrifying to have to "go back to work" and no longer be at home with Snickerdoodle. But this job seems like I would be good at it and would be doing something important enough that I'd be willing to be away from Snickerdoodle for.
Pray it up! I think I really want this job. The interview went well for once and if I don't at least get a second interview I will be just dumbfounded.

Today's thoughts or Emily's randomness

  • It's 11am. Perry Mason's on (yay!)
  • Snickerdoodle refuses baby food now so he's been eating more "people" food. The diapers have been kind of disgusting.
  • Hermano is babysitting later while I go to my job interview. I hope for everyone's sake Snickerdoodle doesn't have a stinky diaper in that time.
  • I'm hungry but haven't eaten yet. That is silly.
  • I've changed my mind about quitting soda. I can't do it! I won't! You can't make me!
  • Snickerdoodle's getting his one-year pictures done on Saturday. He seems to be dirtier and more accident-prone lately. I'm hoping for a scratch-free, bruise-free face by Saturday.
  • I haven't decided if TheOldMan and I are going to get in a few of the pictures with Snickerdoodle and have a professional family picture taken.
  • I need to decide quickly as TheOldMan will need his hair cut before then.
  • I haven't decided what shoes to wear to the interview. That is very important. I already have the outfit decided but the shoes are troublesome. I've had a tough time buying shoes lately; sometimes I'm an 8 sometimes a 9 1/2. I bought some fabulous shoes for Hermano and BlueEyes' wedding. They are too big but sooo cute. I'll post a pic of the whole outfit later.
  • I ordered my birthday present last night! Yay Government Stimulus!
  • 2 days until vacation and we still have no plans. TheOldMan says we can't go anywhere until the house is spotless. We may not make it out of town
  • Snickerdoodle's party is a week from Saturday and I still have no idea what to do at a 1 year olds birthday party especially when the guests are going to be mostly girls.
  • I should eat lunch while Snickerdoodle naps since after that I'll have to start getting ready to go.
  • I'd rather go back to bed.

What was I doing ten years ago?
I went to Mexico that summer I think. It was summer before senior year of High School. (That makes me feel old.) I did get my hair cut really short that summer. Kind of wish I hadnt done that.

Smiles on Sunday (on Tuesday)

Yeah, I'm late on my Sunday post. We went to Mom & Dad's on Sunday and then yesterday when we got home, I had a blazing headache and went to bed.
But here is a video of Snickerdoodle, our piano prodigy.

I'll pay you $5 to organize my pictures

We haven't organized our digital pictures since April.
That has created quite a backlog of Snickerdoodle pictures.
I don't wanna but I need to organize them.
I have been dreading this project.
I need to just start.

I don't wanna.

Update: It's 11pm. I've been working on this for a while now and I have to stop.
I'm nearly done but I just can't go on. I'll finish it up in the morning.

Have a happy 4th.

Updated Update: I finished up this morning. All of the Snickerdoodle pictures are in weekly folders from sonogram to week 51 (12 days until he is 1!) I won't put them in weekly folders after his birthday, that could get out of hand.
Right now he is learning that he can make the bottle drip on himself and his tray if he holds it upside down. He thinks it's very cool, I should probably go take care of that.

My Sissa

I just realized that I added Sissa to my "nicknames I use on my blog" list but haven't talked about Sissa.

She is great. I love her. Here's a picture of me and Sissa and Hermano that we took a few weeks ago when she was in town. She's not in town often enough. We miss her.

9 days...and counting

Next Friday when TheOldMan gets home shortly after 3:30pm, we are on vacation. I am ready for TheOldMan to be home for 9 straight days. He deserves it.
The last few days I have been going out of my mind. I'm so bored and tired of being at home. It'll be nice to have a change of pace.
PLUS we are getting Snickerdoodle's 1year pictures taken and celebrating his birthday and having a big ol' schindig with lots of friends. (Having a house full of other people's children has me kind of stressed out but I'll survive. I hope.)
And then it'll be my birthday (yay for presents! boo for getting older)
TheOldMan is getting me an iPod for my birthday (I don't like surprises, I pick out my gifts. I don't want anyone wasting money on something I don't want) so I will take any and all iTunes gift cards I receive :)
Well anyway, I have been really grumpy the last few days. I'm glad TheOldMan has a day off tomorrow. I can't wait for vacation. I'm tired of being in this house. Plus I'm upset with myself because I'm being ridiculous. I hate calling people I don't know but it needs to be done. I'm terrified of saying something stupid and then having to replay the conversation over in my head obsessively. It's for something I want to do so I should just call and get it over with. It's actually impossible to die from embarassment so what do I have to be worried about? Well I'm afraid they'll make fun of me after we hang up and then when I get there, they can point and laugh at the girl from that embarassing phonecall. These are the things that keep me up at night. That and the idiot driving blocks away with their bass pounding at 2am. Stupid paper-thin walled house. Why do people need their music that loud?! I don't understand that! ugh.
okay, i'm done ranting. I'm going to watch Roger Federer pound someone else at Wimbledon now.
Have a fantastic day, I'm certainly going to try.
