7 Things Meme (2 blogs in one day?! Wow!)

Jaymi the Flip Flop Mamma has a get to know me blog and I thought I'd do one too.
Here you go, 7 strange/different things you may not already know about me

1. Since I got married, my middle name and last name now rhyme. It is annoying.
2. I sleep with my Cardinals blanket. TheOldMan calls it my blankie.
3. I've worn glasses since I was 8. My first pair was pink and plastic. (Awesome, I know)
4. I don't wear my wedding ring. It is too big since I lost 60 lbs. Have I mentioned that? ;)
5. I was part of the gifted program in elementary school. I hated it. It was unstructured learning. Couldn't handle it.
6. I puked on old Busch Stadium. I had NOT been drinking.
7. My first job was at Dairy Queen. It lasted a month.

Merry Christmas. I finally blogged.

Well posting a couple of pictures probably doesn't count as blogging but I really haven't been able to think of anything to blog about. I've started babysitting 13 month old twins so Praise God, we've got a little extra income. We have been blessed already so much this Holiday season and we're especially grateful to God for our family and our incredibly great kid. He is learning everyday and amazing us with his hilarious personality. He is so full of life and a wonderful little human being.
So if I don't blog again this week, Merry Christmas :)

painfully dumb

I urge you to check out Hermano's Blog

He has a video posted on there that will make you sad.
Not crying sad but sad for our future. People like this woman are out there making babies, teaching children, VOTING. The dumb is overwhelming.

This is the day that the Lord has made, I guess

This is the kind of day we've had

Snickerdoodle is cutting a molar and he's not taking it very well. He's been very distraught much of the day and prone to dramatic meltdowns. I gave in and let him have his pacifier and stuffed meerkat even though we usually just let him have them during naps and bedtime.
So I have a splitting headache and decided to send Snickerdoodle to bed an hour early. When TheOldMan gets home from job #2, we'll wake him up and give him a bath and some milk.
For now I'm going to sit and relax with my diet coke and boyscout kettle corn. Which, by the way, I've had atleast once a day for the last week. I'm hopelessly addicted.
That's all for now. I've got a lot of shows on Monday that need my undivided attention.

Oh by the way. Praise Jesus....I'm going to start babysitting in a few weeks. (Money yay!)

Best Money I Ever Spent

I no longer have to pay to go to weight watchers. That's right!
6 weeks ago I got to my goal weight. My BMI is no longer classified as overweight or obese (like it was.) It is classified as Healthy.
Today I received my Weight Watchers Lifetime membership.
As long as I stay at goal weight (or up to 2lbs over) I do not have to pay.

When I got pregnant with Snickerdoodle two years ago, I was at my highest weight. I was devestated and thought that I was doomed to be fat forever.
Weight Watchers has been so easy. Well, it's not easy but it's like childbirth; the outcome makes you forget how hard it was. I know myself and I know that if it was too hard and didn't work, I would have given up. I do not like to work hard.

If you need to lose weight, go to a meeting. It is worth the time and money.

Again, with the nonblog

I still have nothing to blog about so here are some pictures.

what's happening

TheOldMan pointed out that despite the title of the last blog "why don't i ever blog anymore", I didn't really blog. I just posted a picture.
So here you go. I am not leading a very exciting life so I will just sum up what's up.
I've not been sleeping well. Bouts of insomnia are uncool.
I'm trying contacts again and getting some fancy new glasses. I'm going to have my tear ducts plugged because I have dry eyes. (Thanks mom!)
We rearranged the living room. My house needs cleaning fairies.
Speaking of the fancy new glasses, let me explain our medical spending situation.
TheOldMan has a benefits card that we use as a credit card for medical expenses (copays etc.)
It automatically comes out of his pay and is tax free and all that.
We accidentally used it improperly at the beginning of the year and they suspended us from using it until we paid them back. That just happened this week. So, we have a years worth of money to spend in a short amount of time. So we've made eye doctor appointments and may make some dentist appointments. We are going nuts on the medical care. It is a good thing TheOldMan is going to the eye doctor. His glasses (which he never wears) are round and big and ugly. Plus, the squinting at the tv is killing me. He's driving me nuts. So, I am going with him to make sure he gets nice glasses that he will wear. And since we have an slightly excessive amount of money to spend, I picked out some stupidly expensive frames for myself. He couldnt believe it when I told him how much they were. Needlesstosay, I will have no problem spending this money. If we don't spend it, we lose it forever so I don't feel bad about treating myself.
What else. Oh, Snickerdoodle is going to be a Frog Prince for Halloween. Gramma made his costume and it is adorable. Tomorrow night he's going trick or treating for the first time. He's going with his girlfriends who are dressing like princesses. It'll be supercute. I'll post lots of pictures. And YAY! I get to leave town this weekend. (This town is painfully dull so even if I have to sit in the car for hours, which I hate, it is better than sitting around here all weekend)
Well there is a blog. I am hungry now which is too bad because we have not shopped for groceries and I have no idea what to feed myself.
THE END

Before and After

2 years ago when I got pregnant with Snickerdoodle, I weighed 60 lbs more than I do now.
1 year ago when I joined Weight Watchers, I weighed 40 lbs more than I do now.

Check out the pictures. I know that size is just a number but size 6 feels much better than size 18 did.

Lame...or Awesome?

Before we get into our regularly scheduled blog...my babysitting job has fallen through and we're financially worse off than before.
I'm pretty ticked.
But anyway here we go!

I want honest opinions. TheOldMan thinks my iPod purchases are less than awesome but I'm unashamed of each of them. So I thought I'd hit shuffle and give you an idea of what I listen to. Let me know what you think and give me your musical recommendations.

#1 The Sign - Ace of Base
#2 I Want You - Savage Garden
#3 Mercy - Duffy
#4 Hold On - Wilson Phillips
#5 Say it Ain't So - Weezer
#6 A New Day Has Come - Celine Dion
#7 That's the Way it is - Celine Dion
#8 I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - The Proclaimers
#9 Doo Wop (That Thing) - Lauryn Hill
#10 Take a Chance on Me - ABBA
#11 Jump Around - House of Pain
#12 Love Remains the Same - Gavin Rossdale
#13 What a Girl Wants - Christina Aguilera
#14 Say You'll Be There - Spice Girls
#15 SexyBack (clean version) - Justin Timberlake

So there you have a sampling of my mostly 90's musical selection. What do you think?
Lame or Awesome?

Feeling blue

My friend Lindsay just called. She's on her way to the airport to fly to the Philippines to start her 11 month mission adventure.
I knew she would be calling; I was prepared. I still couldn't say anything to her. Everything came out high-pitched. I cried. We said good-bye.
It's no big deal really. She lives in LA. We only see each other once a year anyway. I just saw her. She'll be back in 11 months. We're on schedule. I still cried.

Smiles on Sunday-Late Again

This is my dear dear friend Lindsay who is leaving to travel the world for Jesus FOR A YEAR. She's leaving in 5 days. I just wanted to put a picture with Snickerdoodle because I'm gonna miss her A LOT. Check out her blog, she still needs cash and lots o prayers.

Also, I thought I'd include a picture of Snickerdoodle's new do. All the curls are gone for now. We're hoping they grow back.

I'm grumpy

grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy

Doesn't make for a very good blog. Sorry to my fan(s).

I need to stop feeling sorry for myself.

Let's get some perspective!
a)I've got a wonderful loving husband and son. I love them more than anything and they love me.
b)I've lost 65 lbs! (without really even trying)
c)Jesus loves me and will provide even when we can't see the way.
d)That's pretty much all I need.

but ugh! it sucks when you can't see how it'll all work out.
Faith and surrender are tough.
I know that trusting in God is the only way. However, completely trusting is really tough.
It's tough to just give it all up. I want to know how it'll work out. I want to rely on myself.
But...that doesn't seem to be working.
boo.

Prayers needed

Above all else, I am asking for your prayers.
My deardeardear friend Lindsay is (hopefully) flying to the Phillipines in two weeks to start an 11 month journey to 11 countries to share the love of Jesus.
Please check out her blog and read all about Adventures in Missions

She is trusting the Lord that the remaining financial needs will be met within the next two weeks. I urge you to pray for her now and for the next year.
I also ask, if you are able, to help her financially (and soon.)

Thank you. She will be reaching so many people and touching so many lives over the next year. Please be a part of that through your prayers and generous donations.

Stupid Blogger

The laptop doesn't like blogger.
I can post but I can't leave comments.
Aggravating because I loved leaving comments but now if I want to, I have to get on the PC and that's a whole other aggravation.
So. Less posting. Less commenting. Boo.

too early to blog

I have been up for a while and it is still an unholy hour.
I think Snickerdoodle may be cutting a molar or something. He's woken up whimpering several times the last 2 nights.
And once I'm awake, it takes a long time to go back to sleep :(

So why not get on the computer?! That'll help! no. no it won't but I'm doing it anyway.

Anyway, here's a picture of Snickerdoodle from yesterday evening. He was outside playing with his crazy uncle and aunt and our wonderful friend Linz. This picture cracked up TheOldMan and I because it shows a side of Snickerdoodle's personality that only we usually get to see. He's an ornery bugger and now I have photographic evidence.
I should try and go back to sleep now.

Smiles on Sunday

Snickerdoodle watching a video Aunt Sissa sent of herself waving and saying hi on my phone.

He thought it was great!

just being honest

  • I am emotionally spent. This weekend kicked my butt. I think it's weird my brother is married. I hate that he's far away. (He's in the Caribbean.) I miss him. I almost got emotional going to Culver's for dinner because that's where my new sister-in-law works. Snickerdoodle keeps taking Uncle Hermano's picture off the fridge and carrying it around the house. He likes to look at pictures of his aunt and uncle and smile and babble. He misses them too.
  • I'm watching Star Wars episode III (again) and wondering why I had such a crush on Hayden Christianson. He can't act. But he plays the bad guy and I always like the bad guy. This movie stinks. I've come to a sad conclusion that I think each Star Wars movie is really crappy but awesome in a way. I can't resist them though. Anytime this junk is on TV, I have to watch it. The prequels would have been better without Natalie Portman and Hayden Christianson. I love them both but these movies would have been better with different actors.
  • I love staying home with Snickerdoodle but wish I could find a stinking job already. I hate that TheOldMan has to work two jobs. He's not home enough.
  • I'm just feeling blah about these things, not curl-up-in-bed depressed. No need to worry.
  • Senator Palpatine is a bad dude. I like him.
  • I only have 2.8lbs to go until goal weight (yay.) I want to finish it up this week but I want Taco Bell too. This is my dilemma.
  • Random fact: I like string cheese. a lot.
  • I'm going to paint my toe nails two different colors. Maybe I'll post a picture. Probably not though. I have nice feet but I don't think I want a picture of my foot on the web.
  • I don't know my neighbors names. I don't know if apostrophes belong in that sentence.
  • Ewan McGregor made an awesome Obiwon Kenobi.
  • Anakin Skywalker's about to kill all the younglings. That part makes me sad.
  • My brother has hairy Chewbacca legs.
  • I could eat WeightWatchers SmartOnes Stuffed Breakfast Sandwiches for at least 2 meals a day. They are delightful and scrumptious.

Gramma turned 50 on Sunday (shh) so we spent another weekend with them.

Snickerdoodle had a great time of course and we got to see Sissa for a few minutes (yay)

Here's Snickerdoodle making a kissy face with Gramma and Grampa.
Happy Birthday Mom!

Bangs

It's hard to smile for a picture that you're taking of yourself but these are my bangs. I can wear them fuller or swept across. They're versatile. Bangs are fun.
Oh, and I have a job interview on Monday (yay!)

Legal Genius or Lamest Blog Ever

I watch Perry Mason every weekday at 11. I believe I've expressed my admiration for Perry. He's awesome and there isn't anything else on at 11 so that's what I do. I could do something productive but it's an awesome show so I can't help myself.

I love Della and Paul Drake and even Hamilton Berger and Lt Tragg.
I do, however, find it sad when I recognize guest stars from previous episodes.
I'm not sure the point of this blog but I guess I don't care who knows how much I love Perry.
Even when I would watch it growing up, I would wonder why Perry and Della didn't admit how much they loved each other. Mom has a theory on that but we won't get into it.
Ok, well that's all of my awesome blog for now. Hope you enjoyed.

Bombardment!

So I had a call from the place I interviewed at few months ago about another job. So I called the lady back thinking we would set up an interview. BUT! She surprised me with a phone interview!
I thought it was very uncool. I wasn't not prepared and came across less polished than I would have had I had time to prepare.
I'm pretty annoyed by this place but would really like a job there.

But I got bangs today so the days not a total loss.

*Enter a Sappy Song Lyric Here*

My brother is getting married in less than 3 weeks. I'm feeling kind of emotional.
I got to spend the weekend with Hermano and BlueEyes at Mom&Dads and loved being with them.
When I went to college, Hermano was not quite 12 and I feel like I missed out on a lot and wish I knew him better. Since he moved to town 2 years ago for college, I've really liked having him around and love that he is a big part of Snickerdoodle's life.
I'm glad he has found someone who loves him so much.
I bought some waterproof mascara a few days ago so I'm prepared for the wedding. I'm pretty sure it's gonna hit me hard.
He's my brother and I love him.

My lack of blogging

I don't have much to talk about lately.
I didn't get the job. Lame.
I got a year older. Lame.
I really need a job. Lame.
Sooo. Not much to talk about here.
Will blog again later...if something exciting happens.

Oh, Sissa is having her gallbladder removed on Monday. It's not a difficult surgery but prayers for her are appreciated. Thanks bye

Update: yes, the icing did come out of the clothing. I would highly recommend Shout Advanced spray for all stains. It works everytime.
